Brynllwyd Cottage, Corris, Gwynedd, SY20 9RD

It almost feels alpine to me in this forested and mountainous part of north Wales. This 3 bedroom detached cottage is understood to have historic origins dating back to nearly 1790.  According to local sources it was occupied by the head forester for the Marquis of Queensberry and local hearsay suggests the ancient milestone opposite is where the stagecoach and horses used to stop.  This comfortable welcoming home still retains lots of character with an open fire, multi fuel stove, beams and stonework.  The large garden extends around the cottage which, has been maintained and upgraded by the present owner to benefit from oil fired central heating by radiators, extensive uPVC double glazed windows and some uPVC fascias.  If the character and soul of gnarly roof timbers, uneven floor boards, low doors and nooks and crannies appeals; then a summer in the garden and a winter by the fireside here could be just the lifestyle dream you are seeking.

Watch the video on our website for an instant tour around this cottage! You can almost feel the warm glow of the fire and the pleasant sunshine in the south facing garden.  This 3 bedroom detached cottage has pretty big gardens and lots of character enhanced with some pine doors, exposed beams and stonework, but your comfort is ensured with oil fired central heating, extensive uPVC double glazing and there are even 2 bathrooms here.  You might be in the country but you can still keep in touch with the outside world via superfast fibre broadband it's genarally 38Mbs but I saw an amazing 100Mbs on the screen when I visited!

Location

From Dolgellau proceed south along the A470 for about 3 miles and turn right at the junction with the Cross Foxes up the A487 Tal y Llyn pass.  This spectacular drive comtinies for about  another 7 miles until you enter Corris Uchaf.  Continue down the hill and past the craft centre of the right. Stay on the main A487 and Brynllwyd Cottage is situated about 150 yards passed the Old Vicarage B & B, which is also on the right.  Brynllwyd can also be identified by our For Sale Board.
