The current owner purchased this property at the end of 2011 when it was in a dilapidated condition.  It is now occupied as a main home and we have been given a list of improvements which include rewiring, overhauled roof, double glazed self cleaning roof to dining room, replacement roof to store room, replacement windows and front door, re-lined chimney flue for for multi fuel stove.

From Porthmadog direction, take the A487 heading towards Blaenau Ffestiniog.  After about 7 miles turn left at Maentwrog where signposted for Blaenau Ffestiniog onto the A496. Continue along the A496 bearing left where the road forks (still A496) for Blaenau Ffestiniog & Betws y Coed. Continue on this road up the big hill towards Blaenau Ffestiniog, taking the 1st turning on the left, signposted for Tanygrisiau after the 40mph speed sign and just before the Rehau factory. Proceed along the road, where the road takes a sharp right you will see two roads forking off to the left. Take the sharp left and proceed past the school on the right and the terrace houses on your right and Bryn Mair will be seen on the right after about 100 metres and can be identified by its name plate and our For Sale Board.

Bryn Mair has a favourable south facing frontage and views extend across the playing field opposite to far reaching views of open mountainous scenery in the distance across the Ffestiniog valley. At the rear up the hill the famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway runs  past.

Tanygrisiau is a small former slate mining village which stands with a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery adjacent to vast areas of open countryside on the periphery of Blaenau Ffestiniog, high up amongst in an area surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park.

The town is served by a range of local shops, schools, doctor’s surgery and a swimming pool.  There is also a main rail link to the national network with trains to Llandudno Junction.
